Everyday Money Saving Tips
If you’re feeling a little down, worried about your finances or maybe just bored here are some ideas about life and money for you to consider. They are all quick ways to make or save money. The more accessible money you have, the more you can do with it and the better you might feel.
Special Offers
Be a special offers junkie. One of the great things about the internet is you have instant access to a huge range of special offers as soon as they are released. Companies will advertise special offers very regularly. Some special offers last for a specific time, whilst others are published on a first come -first served basis. Next time you need to buy something online look out for the special offers available first and you could end up saving a fortune.
Sell Your Junk
Take a look around you, what can you see? Perhaps there is a book you have just finished, or maybe one you bought a year ago and never read? Are you ever going to read it again? Probably not! Sell it now on an internet auction site. Set the postage cost to slightly above what it is going to cost for you to post the item and then just wait to see what happens. There are millions of people bargain hunting on the internet every minute of the day. They could well be fighting to give you money for the items you no longer need. You may end up richer and living in a clutter free house. A win/win situation!
Don’t Buy New Books
Have you used your local library recently? If not then give it a try. You have already paid for the books in your library though the taxes you pay, so read them. If you’re lucky (and especially if you pre-order) it is likely you can borrow a recently published book for free at the library. You may never need to buy a book again.
Book a Holiday Online
You will find hundreds of great holiday, flight and hotel deals online, along with a whole range of special offers. If you are only looking for a hotel then book early, as early as possible. Hotels will almost never get cheaper in price the nearer the time of your stay. So the earlier you book a hotel the better. The same is true with flights. Flights are likely to only ever get more expensive. Book flights early. However, if you are looking for a package holiday then you may want to leave it to the last minute. Package holidays (if they are still available) can drop in price a day or two before departure. If you feel up for it then gamble by not booking a package holiday until the day before. You may well end up with a truly cheap bargain holiday.
